About Intrade
"Intrade isn't just an entertaining website. It is the latest iteration of one of the most important economic developments of modern times."
David Leonhardt, Economics Reporter, The New York Times
Our mission is to provide you with the best prediction market platform and related services bar none. We want to facilitate you to connect, predict, discuss and contribute your insights on uncertain events that you are passionate about.
At the heart of Intrade is a marketplace for the exchange of predictions on uncertain future events often called "prediction markets" or "event markets"..
When we or you list events on the www.intrade.net marketplace it facilitates the aggregation of crowd wisdom into predictive probabilities.
Predictive information generated by the Intrade community has been used by CNBC, CNN, FOX, WSJ, FT, New York Times, over 50 major universities and graduate schools in the US, the ECB, Cato, Bank of Japan, Bank of England, presidential candidates and innumerable Wall Street firms.
We have operated public and private prediction market places for Yahoo!, The Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, the National Journal, RealClearPolitics, Rasmussen Reports and others.
"At FORTUNE we often write about the latest hot company, but it's rare that we get a chance to introduce you to an entirely new market. Intrade is the only efficient market system around for investing in, well, almost anything"
Andy Serwer, Managing Editor, Fortune

Additional Information About Intrade
Intrade derives income from real money trading fees, interest on funds deposited by members, professional services to businesses, advertising and market data sales.
"Intrade is THE watering-hole around which those interested in the issues that impact us all congregate. In so doing collective wisdom increases, uncertainty decreases, better decisions can be made. All these are good things."
John Murray, Intrade member.
Intrade provides an exclusively online platform with much of the content and all of the predictive information generated by the Intrade community and not Intrade itself.
Our objectives include increasing the quantity and quality of the predictive information generated on Intrade. To do this we are focused on growing the number of users of our service, the number of markets considered, and to provide the best service possible.
The markets traded on Intrade are very similar to futures or options. While futures or options may be based on stocks, commodities or bonds the contracts listed on Intrade are typically based on uncertain future events.
Whether some uncertain future event will happen or not is the typical subject matter underlying each Intrade market. The Intrade markets are traded using a 0 to 100 pricing methodology.
Using 0 to 100 which is also a simple probability scale ensures that Intrade prediction markets are easily accessible to a wide audience. The price that an event market trades at equals the probability according to the Intrade community of the event occurring.
